McKeesport, PA – Penney Eye Care is excited to announce they will be holding their annual Penney Eye Care Holiday Fundraiser to help make the holidays brighter for a local family in need.
“Last year was our first year doing the fundraiser, and thanks to the many patients who came in during the entire month of December, we were able to have the McKeesport police deliver the money raised to a local family going through a very difficult time. Hopefully, this year, we are even busier during the month of December, which will, in turn, help a family in our community,” Dr. Rachel Penney said.

Throughout December, Penney Eye Care will donate $5 for each eye exam and $10 for each pair of glasses sold. Penney said she asked the McKeesport Police Department to choose another family this year to ensure the funds go to a family who is going through a difficult time and truly needs it.
“I know that the holidays can be a stressful time for people in general, but when there is a crisis it can make it that much harder so if this can alleviate even just a little bit of stress for a family going through a tough time around the holidays that makes it all worth it,” said Dr. Penney.
Penney said for patients who want to use their insurance benefits for the 2019 year, patients with flex spending accounts they don’t want to lose, patients who have been putting off getting an eye exam, diabetics who are overdue for their exams, and more, can not only help themselves by getting their eyes checked or updating their glasses, they can also help a local family in need strictly by coming into the office for their eye care needs.
Offers for December include 20% off a complete pair of glasses for patients without vision insurance. Penney said they also offer 30% off a complete second pair of glasses purchased within 30 days of the first pair. Penney Eye Care accepts insurances, including VSP, VBA, NVA, DAVIS, UPMC for You, and UPMC Vision Advantage.
